Reminder: Increase in Michigan Minimum Wage

As a reminder, effective January 1, 2018, Michigan’s minimum wage will increase to $9.25 per hour. Employers employing two or more employees who are at least sixteen years of age are required to pay this new minimum wage to their employees. We recommend that dealers review the compensation of all employees to ensure compliance with the new wage increase for all hours worked by employees on and after January 1, 2018.

If you have any questions about the Michigan minimum wage law or would like additional information on wage and hour laws, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our Dealer Practice Group for guidance at 248-645-9300 or by email.
